Meet the Hut Owner
Based in not-so-sunny England, Melinda Neunie launched the Hut in 2017 after a trip to one her favourite places in the world – Ibiza. With a professional background in fashion but no formal design training, Melinda brought her sketches to life with just a laptop and a dream. Her aim was to create beautiful and memorable swimwear for courageous wanderers who know they were destined to stand out and live a life of influence.
Melinda started her career as a fashion and lifestyle journalist in London. She took an interim role as the fashion and beauty editor at Amelia’s Magazine, before moving into copywriting for some of the countries most established retailers. The designer gained invaluable experience with fashion heavyweights such as Selfridges & Co and Hunter Boots, before deciding to build her own lifestyle brand. She relied on freelancers and help from seamstresses in her family to get her first few pieces into production.

Melinda now continues her writing on the blog and has her hand in every side of the business, from the designs and prints to the art direction and marketing. She aims to encourage other girls to live their truth, through her own inspiring story and original swimwear that makes each wearer look and feel special.
