Got itchy feet from pacing your sitting room? Is the thought of a few months with no travel giving you some serious blues? Don’t stress - we’ve got you covered! We’ve rounded up some of our favourite travel-related shows on Netflix that you can binge during quarantine. They won’t replace that feeling of stepping off a plane or your first day in a new city, but they’ll give you some laughs and show you some beautiful destinations instead.
THE WORLD'S MOST EXTRAORDINARY HOMES
This mini-series offers exactly what is says on the tin! If you already swoon over furniture on Pinterest or find yourself picturing your dream home - it’s totally your bag. Throw stunning destinations into the mix and you have some serious binge-worthy viewing on your hands. Hosted by architect Piers Taylor and actress Caroline Quentin, this 12-part series takes you to stunning locations across the world, including New Zealand, Noway, India and Spain. Travelling may be out of the picture for now, but this series will take you around the globe from the comfort of your own couch.
Got a penchant for gritty dramas or true crime documentaries? Then put some time aside - Narcos is definitely for you! Based on the infamous drug kingpin Pablo Escobar, this series transports you to the streets of Columbia as it chronicles the real-life stories of the drug cartels in Medellin. We love the suspense, the drama and the Spanish. Move on to Narcos Mexico when you’ve binged all the episodes.
Street Food is a viewing treat for foodies! Created by David Gelb and Brian McGinn, these half-hour episodes explore the rich culture of street food in some of the world’s most vibrant cities. Discover the food karts of India and the hawker stalls in Singapore, then take away some inspo for your next meal. we’re sure your quarantine menu could do with a shake up.

Ah! who doesn’t love a good documentary on the beauty that is nature? Especially if it’s being narrated by one of most beloved British presenters - Sir David Attenborough! You’ll laugh, cry and definitely say “awwww” as you witness some of the world’s most awe-inspiring natural wonders, up close and personal. We love marvelling at the oceans, admiring the vastness of the desert and witnessing wildlife in its natural habitat.
JACK WHITEHALL: TRAVELS WITH MY FATHER
We can assure you you’ll be in for a few laughs with this one! Jack Whitehall, the English comedian/TV presenter embarks on a travel adventure of a lifetime with his father, Michael. Join the two as they travel across South-east Asia while trying to strengthen their father-son bond. These two really are quite the odd pair - which makes for hilarious viewing!
Join journalist David Farrier as he explores a darker side of tourism. From death-worshipping cults in Mexico to vampires in New Orleans, you’ll experience a different type of travel that you won’t find in the guidebooks. Staying at home might not feel quite so bad after this one.
